Real-Time Moment Tensor Monitoring System (RMT)

即時地震矩張量監測系統,結合震矩張量逆推與網格搜尋技術,即時監測臺灣地區的地震活動。一旦地震發生,此系統可以在120秒內提供所有的重要震源資訊,包括發震時間、位置、規模、震源機制解。與過去的系統最大的不同,在於其可以在地震發生後於線上快速得知所有的震源參數,特別是震源機制,對於地震防災、減災上有著重要意義。

The RMT incorporates moment tensor inversion and grid search technique to monitor earthquake activities in the vicinity of Taiwan. Once an earthquake occurs, the RMT can provide all the important earthquake source parame-ters within 120 seconds, including the time, location, mo-ment magnitude, and focal mechanism. The RMT stands out from older systems with its rapidity of determining the data and uploading them online. The focal mechanism is especially useful since it holds an important role in earth-quake disaster prevention and mitigation.
